How To Measure

Five quick measurements help us get your fit right. This guide walks you through taking each one at home, in just a few minutes.

Before you start

A Few Quick Tips

A minute of setting up makes every measurement more accurate.

  • Use a soft tape measure

A flexible tailor's tape, the kind used for sewing, works best. A stiff metal one won't follow your shape.

  • Wear thin clothing

Close-fitting, lightweight clothing lets the tape sit true. Bulky layers add centimetres that aren't yours.

  • Stand relaxed and straight

Feet flat, shoulders down, breathing normally. Try not to hold your breath or pull your stomach in.

  • Ask someone to help

It's easier, and more accurate, when someone else holds the tape and reads the number for you.

  • Keep it snug, not tight

The tape should lie flat against you without pinching. You should be able to slip a finger underneath.

  • Use centimetres

Our booking form asks for cm. Flip the tape to the side that uses centimetres.

The five measurements

Take Them In This Order

Write each number down as you go. If one feels off, just measure it again.

  1. Bust

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level across your back.

Check the tape isn't sagging or riding up at the back.

  2. Waist

Wrap the tape around your natural waist, which is the narrowest part of your torso.

Breathe out normally and don't pull the tape tight.

  3. Hips

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips, standing with your feet together.

Keep the tape level all the way round.

  4. Height

Stand barefoot with your back against a wall. Have your helper mark the wall level with the top of your head, then measure from the floor up to the mark.

Heels, back and head against the wall, looking straight ahead.
